A Fruit TreeUnique Garden Gifts Fruit Trees

I have never in all my years heard of anyone receiving a fruit tree as a gift. Okay I have only been around for 27 years … But that doesn’t change the fact that this gift is so 1930s or something like that. It’s from a different era, is my point. A fruit tree will make a great gift for any gardener, but especially those who grow for food (obviously).

To be honest I did not expect to find this … but you can get a fruit tree online. Get more info at Amazon.

You can also try finding a reasonably priced fruit tree in your area if you’re up for it.

Another (and more DIY) alternative would be to buy seeds, plant them in potting soil in a pot, and give them to your friend/loved one in a year or two. That takes a lot of foresight, but that’s probably what I would do in the end … plus it’s cheaper. With enough patience you could give fruit trees to a lot of special people for quite cheap. If you have any questions about this feel free to contact us.

Unique Garden Gifts # 2

Unique Garden Gifts TadpolesTadpoles

If your friend has a pond, regardless of size, tadpoles make a really cool gift. If you are not a gardener then you can at least appreciate their mosquito larvae eating potential. From a gardeners perspective frogs are even better as they eat a lot of pesky insects that try to take over the garden. I guess you could say they are a green way of taking care of the problem (I know it’s bad, but aren’t all puns?).

Potato Grow BagUnique Garden Gifts Potato Grow Bag

This is a cute little gift that makes potato growing seemless. If you are more adventurous you can start growing the potatoes for the recipient before you give the bags. I haven’t tried this, but I bet you could grow these indoors as well. And there is nothing quite like quality new potatoes. I once read that they are the best reason to start a garden.

Unique Garden Gifts Canning SetUnique Garden Gifts # 4

Canning Set

Preserving food is as old as growing it. You can be sure that if someone has spent time making a garden for food that they will want to preserve and can some of their produce. What makes the canning set so ingenious is that most of us gardeners just go for the bear minimum when it comes to how much we are going to spend on canning. It’s very probable that they won’t have the right tools (and even know-how) for canning properly.

A Bee HouseUnique Garden Gifts Bee house

This is a great gardening gift regardless of whether or not the recipient gardens for food or flowers. Here are a few things to keep in mind: this is meant for bees that don’t sting :P That is the main concern of people when it comes to bees (for obvious reasons). Another thing to keep in mind is that it is not a hive made for honey. It’s there so bees can have a nice comfy home and create a better more natural garden. This is a cool unique gardening gift.
