Top 10 Homemade Romantic Gifts

Because sometimes your wallet can’t support the aspirations of your heartHomemade Romantic Gifts

I LOVE homemade romantic gifts. Honestly, this is one of my favorite lists to create, because there are so many ideas, from the cheesy to the prfound. The difficult part was to narrow down the list and cut out some worthy ideas. Romance is something that has always come fluently to me. I just enjoy trying to make others feel loved, and who better to do that for than my wife? Anyway, that’s enough about me (lol); I hope this list helps you make your partner feel loved and special …

One note before we begin. If you have any questions about HOW TO MAKE any of these gifts please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will try to help you out.

Warning: if you don’t like laughing please just skip # 5!

So, let’s make some homemade romantic gifts!

Homemade Romantic Gifts # 10

A pouch filled with symbols of love

Addmitedly this is probably our corniest gift on the list, but I think it’s a great idea. This is a great way to repurpose old trinkets that are special to you and your beloved, or to add value to something new. The idea is simple; you create a pouch (alright so maybe that’s not so simple), or you can buy one for very little and fill it with trinkets, notes, or anything that you want. The key to making this gift romantic and meaningful is explanation.

A (Sexy) Video

Now this video doesn’t have to be sexy. It only needs to be what you are comfortable with. That said, your partner will greatly appreciate a sexy video of you (especially if your partner is a man …). You can make a video that tells him a message. Just make it something that you know he will value, and will want to keep. And, trust me, he will hold this dearer to himself than he ever lets on to you. I don’t know why men do this, but we often do!

A playlist of sexy/romantic/mood setting songs

The mixed tape or CD have been go to DIY romantic gifts for lovers in the past, but times they are a changing. The mixed tape, might as well be an 8-Track at this point. So, this may not be the most unique gift idea, but trust me this will pay for itself (or rather the time you spent) 1 million fold! I recently collected dozens of songs for my partner and I. I’ll keep you updated and post a list for you soon enough.

Tip: Search lists of mood setting songs on Google, open up a Youtube browser, and sift through the songs that you know will set the mood for BOTH of you! They can’t just be songs that you like … Good luck!

Homemade Romantic Gifts # 7

A jar filled with Love Notes

The notes can be about anything from the reasons why you love her to romantic quotes to romantic memories/moments together. The choice is really up to you. The key, if you ask me, is to start this project in your mind right now (hopefully you have a few weeks to gather everything). Carry around a notepad EVERYWHERE you go, and start to collect the ideas. You have to get proactive about this, and the ideas will come easier and easier as you go.

By the looks of things, there is a none-DIY version (but I don’t know what the notes say!). Click here to learn more.

Homemade Romantic Gifts # 6

A Healthy Living Commitment

This is a very romantic gift when you think about it. You are offering to work together in order to live a healthier life. As you can imagine the trick is to ensure that she (or he) does not feel insulted. The point is to bring the two of you together, and to work at something important (your health) together! If I were to do this myself I would put the emphasis on notes (notes for your partner almost every day), on learning, and of course on living healthier together. As long as you are learning and being active even just a little bit every day this can really do wonders. Again, it can be tricky not to come off as insulting, but it is something that you can do better together.

A “Dick in a Box

Homemade Romantic Gifts # 4

A blog with Romantic/Activity Content

Now this is kind of a difficult gift to explain, but I’ll try to make it succinct. The idea, is to make a blog that contains lessons and videos that you have collected from the internet on something romantic. That thing basically just needs to be something that you can do together. For example, I made a blog that serves as a collection of massage techniques. You could create a blog on any topic that allows romantic experiences to be created between the two of you … for example, you could make a blog that helps you learn how to dance together, or make meals together, or create art together. I hope that is at least somewhat clear. It’s hard to explain, but I hope you get the general idea.

A Scrapbook/photo book that tells your story

Now you don’t have to get a professional scrapbook to do this well. Trust me! I made a version of this with pictures from our travels together, and journal style writings in the white space all bound within a journal. The point is to recreate some of the best times you have had together using any means that you can think of. At this point you could even put together a digital version of this using videos. I suppose I am a bit more old school, in that I would like to have/give this gift in a more tangible form, but maybe that’s just me.

Homemade Romantic Gifts # 2

A Homemade Video Slideshow

This is a gift that I have made numerous times. In fact the first time that I told my wife I loved her, I created a video slideshow to build up to it. I’ll share it if someone asks ;). Trust me it made the moment so special, and now we have a momento of that. The first time you make one, it can be a bit challenging, but you’ll get the hang of it after an hour or two. If you need a hand with any tips, etc. write to us and we’ll give you a hand.

Homemade Romantic Gifts # 1

A Shared Dreams Book

Now this is a gift that is great for a serious couple. I don’t know about you, but my partner and I have always shared our inner most dreams and thoughts. But dreams are mere imaginings without goals, direction, and perseverance. A book designated for recording these dreams and your imaginings helps bring them into the material world and one step closer to realization. I love this as a gift, becuase it can be the beginning of working on your dreams together.
